Our History
For over 100 years, Dover Tank & Plate Co has built its legacy on integrity, craftsmanship, and a relentless commitment to quality. Founded in 1922 by father and son team Neal and Bernard F. Lawless, the company began as a modest steel fabrication shop. They had no fortune—only skill, grit, and a vision to create something lasting. Their insistence on doing the job right, never cutting corners, and upholding every commitment laid the foundation for a reputation that would spread across the state. Today, that same dedication to excellence continues through multiple generations of the Lawless family, who have grown the company into one of Ohio’s most respected names in metal fabrication and steel services.
